Skylar Bundy
Skylar Bundy

The Coffee County Central High School (CCCHS) Student of the Week is sophomore Skylar Bundy. Skylar, daughter of Mary Nicholson, is an honors student with an A average. She was nominated by CCCHS teacher and yearbook sponsor, Mr. Deuce Anderson, who describes Skylar as “the kind of student teachers wish they had a room full of.” Skylar is actively involved in yearbook and goes above and beyond what is expected of her. Mr. Anderson says that Skylar is an “irreplaceable” member of the staff and one of the top ad salespersons. Skylar enjoys yearbook because the class is a true work-based learning environment where she and the other students have both the freedom and the responsibility to get their work done. Skylar explains that “people are relying on you” in the yearbook class, and if you miss a day, you are behind. She also said that the class has helped her to be more social because she has to approach people in the school and the community for pictures, quotes, and ads.

In the future, Skylar plans to use her skills learned on the yearbook staff and through AFJROTC to become a juvenile probation officer; Skylar says she has a lot of patience which will help in this endeavor. She is also thinking about joining the National Guard because she will be able to continue the community service she has started in the AFJROTC program. Through the National Guard, Skylar will be able to give back to the community while staying close to home. In Skylar’s spare time she enjoys baking homemade cookies and chocolate pies. CCCHS is very proud to have such an involved, motivated student, and we are certain her preparation through high school will lead her to a bright future.
