Harley Hinshaw

The Coffee County Central High School Student of the Week is senior Harley Hinshaw. Harley, son of Jeff and Anita Hinshaw, has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his high school career while playing basketball and baseball, serving as the senior class president, and staying actively involved in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Harley’s FBLA sponsor, Mrs. Michelle Henley, said that Harley is planning to compete in Spreadsheet Applications and is doing a “tremendous amount of individual preparation for this event.” Though the process toward learning all of the Excel spreadsheet applications is time-consuming and tedious, Harley is diving into it as much as possible. He is learning complex functions and lookups for the program that may benefit him in his future career as an accountant. When asked his motivation behind competing in one of the most challenging competitions in FBLA, Harley said he wanted to win, but, more importantly, he really wanted to take on the learning opportunity.

When Harley is not studying for his FBLA competition or playing a sport, he stays busy serving as senior class president for student government. Harley plans themed dress up days to increase school spirit, serves as a leader of the Raider Renaissance Program, and delivered food at Thanksgiving to families in need. Harley plans to continue being just as involved in college next year, though he is undecided about where that will be. Coffee County Central High School is very proud to have such an involved, ambitious student, and we are certain his preparation at CCCHS will lead him to a bright future.
