Tabbitha Syferd, an 11th grader at Coffee County Central High School, is this week’s Student of the Week. Tabbitha is the daughter of Mark and Melissa Syferd and lives in Manchester. Tabbitha was nominated by her Air Force JROTC instructor Colonel Mike Angle. Tabbitha is the leader of the JROTC StellarXplorer’s program which recently competed against 100 different teams across the U.S. in the field of Orbital Mechanics.   Under the leadership of Tabbitha, the team from Coffee County Central finished in the top 20.

Tabbitha is also involved with the school’s theatre program where she recently had a leading role in The Crucible. Tabbitha says that she loves school and in her spare time she enjoys reading, writing, and driving her truck. Tabbitha hopes to earn an engineering degree from either M.I.T. or Tennessee Tech. Tabbitha says that her dream would be to build race cars for NASCAR one day.
