Emma Holmes

This week’s student of the week is sophomore Emma Holmes. She is the daughter of Craig Holmes of Manchester.

Emma is actively involved in many club and organizations at CHS including the Red Raider Marching Band, show choir, Vocal Hype, the Spanish Club, and the Interact Club. She also serves as the uniform officer for the band. Mr. King, assistant band director, says “Emma is on track to becoming a great Section Leader in the marching band next year and is also the head uniform officer. This job includes getting all 60 band students resized and fitted for their uniforms in addition to finding parts for them like shoes, gauntlets, gloves, and shakos. She never complains when the students hang their uniforms wrong or put up the extras incorrectly, but instead teaches them via in-class demonstrations and also assists them on by one during football games and competitions. She is not afraid to play out loud and confidently and is always punctual and positive. She is a true asset to the Red Raider Band.”

In her spare time, Emma enjoys singing, writing, creating and playing her clarinet and other instruments. She also loves being with her friends and family. After graduation, Emma plans to attend college for English and Music. She would like to pursue a career writing books and music.
