Hall of Fame
The CCCHS Sports Hall of Fame was established in 2020 to honor those who distinguished themselves through athletics. The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to preserve the memory of those athletes, teams, coaches, and contributors who brought distinction, honor, and excellence to Coffee County Central High School. Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, conduct, and character. Their contributions to CCCHS athletics should be significant.
Anyone can nominate a former athlete, team, coach, or contributor by submitting the nomination form. Nominations will be accepted throughout the year, except for the month of June. No nominations will be accepted in the month of June.
There are three categories for induction: Individual, Team of Distinction, and Special Citation.
Individual: At least TEN years must have lapsed after graduation before a person shall be eligible for induction. Once an individual is nominated, the nomination is good for three years. If an individual is not voted in by their third year, they will no longer be considered for induction. This award can be posthumously bestowed.
Team of Distinction: Teams who made exceptional achievements may also be nominated. TEN years must have lapsed before the team shall be eligible for induction. Once a team is nominated, the nomination is good for three years. If a team is not voted in by their third year, they will no longer be considered for induction.
Special Citation: Persons in the community who have made significant contributions to the CCCHS Athletic Department may be nominated for selection into the Hall of Fame. Their contributions should have substantially enhanced the athletic program for an extended period of time. Former coaches may also be nominated for a Special Citation. Once an individual is nominated, the nomination is good for three years. If an individual is not voted in by their third year, they will no longer be considered for induction. No one will be selected for Special Citation within TWO years of a significant donation by the nominee or immediate family member of the nominee or thru a business owned or operated by the nominee or immediate family members. This award can be posthumously bestowed.
The selection committee will consist of the CCCHS Principal, CCCHS Athletic Director, and three members of the community chosen by the principal. The selection committee will convene in June of each year to consider nominations.
Hall of Fame selections will receive a plaque to be placed on the wall near the CHS gym. A ceremony will be held each Fall in the years candidate(s) have been chosen.
