Emily Shelton

This week’s student of the week is senior Emily Shelton. Emily is the daughter of Glenn and Becky Shelton of Normandy.

Emily is a quiet leader at CHS. She serves as President of DECA, plays on the Lady Raider tennis team, and is a member of the Coffee County Youth Bass Club. As a member of DECA, she recently competed in the state competition in Chattanooga in hospitality and tourism. Her DECA sponsor and teacher, Ms. Angela Prater, says that “Emily is a great leader. She goes above and beyond to make sure our DECA chapter is well represented in all school contests. She recently volunteered to pick up biscuits before school for 2 weeks so that DECA could raise $1,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.”

In her spare time, Emily enjoys playing tennis, fishing, playing the piano and attending Bell Springs United Methodist Church in Noah. After graduation later this month, she plans to attend Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville where she will pursue a degree in Engineering Technology in Mechanics.
